KUALA LUMPUR – The Kelana Jaya LRT line suffers another service disruption for the second time this month, with operator RapidKL confirming that a train is having technical issues at the KL Sentral station.
In several alerts posted on its Facebook, RapidKL said its Train 59 was experiencing technical difficulties at the KL Sentral station heading towards Putra Heights.
Repairs are underway, it added at 8.55pm – while it only has a single track open between the Pasar Seni and Abdullah Hukum LRT stations at 9.33pm.
Intermediate train service was activated at 10.12pm between Bangsar to Masjid Jamek, and Masjid Jamek to KLCC. This will delay travel times as trains will be stopping at each station for a longer period of time.
However, in a video shared on social media, smoke was seen coming off a train carriage parked at the KL Sentral LRT station.
The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department said no reports had been lodged over the incident.
Affected commuters also took to Rapid KL’s Facebook page to vent their frustrations as they are stranded at their respective stations.
On September 1, Kelana Jaya LRT line commuters took to social media to vent their frustration over long wait times and slow travel this morning.
Rapid KL said the delay was due to a train having technical problems near the Universiti LRT station heading to Putra Heights, which resulted in commuters alighting the train and walking along the track to the station’s platform.
